Apocalyptica: Photobook (2011)
This book project got it's start already at year 2006. "I thought the idea was great. I've worked with numerous rock bands over the years but non of them really had the powerful stage energy these guys do" Ville says. He was shooting the band now and then during the years but the final book release was postboned year after year. Other book projects came on the way and Ville moved to Los Angeles. Finally year 2011 the band contacted him and said: "Now is the time! Let's get it finished!"

Nightwish: Dark Passion Gallery (2008)
Nightwish: Dark Passion Gallery is a photojournal by the renowned Rock photographer Ville Akseli Juurikkala, a story of the first world tour by Finland's biggest rock band with their new singer, told in breathtaking pictures. Juurikkala followed the band for about year. While the focus is on Europe, there's also plenty of scenes from around the world, from Asia to the Americas. The emphasis is naturally on the band members and their lives, both on-stage and backstage, but the reader also gets to follow the long days of the 50-strong crew.

This is a photo book of a life style with sunglasses, black hair, leather jackets and groupies. This book started it all - rock photography was resurrected with the shots of these vampires!
